Victor Forstmann Woolens Facility

Dublin, Georgia – Art Barry III, SIOR, Partner and Associate Broker of Coldwell Banker Commercial Eberhardt & Barry sold the Victor Forstmann Woolens Manufacturing facility at 161 Nathaniel Drive, East Dublin, Georgia to a California based investment group.

The Victor Forstmann Company, based in Quebec Canada, has operated the 689,000 sq foot facility on 226 acres since the end of the Second World War. The facility itself is the largest woolens manufacturing facility in the world, according to the Dublin, GA Industrial Development Authority. At its peak, the Victor Forstmann Company employed over 1,500 at the plant.

The plant was known for producing all the Master’s Green Jacket fabrics, all the Major League Baseball uniform and hat material, and the majority of pool table felts used around the world. In addition, the majority of U.S. military dress uniform material was manufactured their.

The new owners will continue to lease approximately 12,322 sq feet to the State of Georgia Department Human Resources, Child Support Recovery. The remainder of the space will be available for lease through Coldwell Banker Commercial Eberhardt and Barry, Inc. for light manufacturing and distribution uses. Victor Forstmann Company ceased its woolen manufacturing operations in July, 2007.
